DONATION HAPPINESS
Maybe there's an economic recovery going on, because HandmadeHelp.etsy.com and PaintingWell.etsy.com are both selling paintings. YAY. All the money netted from those sales goes directly to cancer research funds. We use only high ranked research funds, so the money can do the most good.
Bless everyone who is supporting these efforts.

In the AIR
Love being able to breathe! Love is in the AIR.
Nothing is selling from HandmadeHelp.etsy.com, or it's sister shop, PaintingWell.etsy.com - which is sad because that means no money going to cancer research from these efforts.
Please support the cancer research cause on your own. Great research organizations are listed on the profiles of both shops if you're looking into a place to put your donation.
Bless your hearts for caring! And for your support.

NO BUGS
Two weeks in Texas well worth the trip to find out for sure there is no metastesis in my lungs. YAY. However, picked up the flu there. Made everyone nervous because swine flu had broken out in Texas, so I was under watch by the local Health Department. Yikes.
Handmadehelp, and it's sister shop, PaintingWell both suffered from my absence. I did manage a few small things while in my "sick bed" but today hope to be painting again. YAY.
Happy Spring to everyone - and very good health to you.

Texas here we come!
Yep, as is the case in many of us who have experienced cancer - there are "things" that appear and sometimes they are metasteses and sometimes they are nothing - and sometimes (mean little disease that it is!) they are new cancers.
I'm off to MD Anderson for them to examine a "thingy" in my lung.
If you are reading this, please keep me in your thoughts and/or prayers. I need all I can get, and can't think of anything else that has kept me alive for this long.
Blessings to all.

Keeping me company
It's been a studio day. Sad but true that about eighty percent of the time is spent doing other things in order to get a painting ready for sale.
I put a little sprite of a painting into a frame on my worktable to keep me company while I did mundane prep work.
This month I hope to be able to make a good sized donation to cancer research charities. Part will go to M D Anderson and part will go to Stand Up to Cancer. There has been increased "buzz" since the president mentioned supporting science research, and also mentioning a cure for cancer. YAY

GALA
This week was a very happy studio time. Managed to list several items and several sold. This little bit of apple, aptly named "Gala" from New Zealand, I think, was very fun to paint.
Check out both handmadehelp.etsy.com and paintingwell.etsy.com for the new things. And remember, all the money goes to cancer research. This month has been slow, but every dollar counts!
Special thanks to BrianneLee for the blog honor.

Springing Back
HandmadeHelp's trusty shopkeeper has been sick and out of town. It's already time to change the clocks and I haven't even gotten used to the changed year yet!
Hope to get some paintings and perhaps other items in the shop so we can continue our efforts to raise funds for cancer research.
Thanks for stopping by, and please stay tuned.....

MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY.... MONEY!
It's accounting day. Yup. The 2008 tallies are in and looks like Handmadehelp is in the RED!
More disturbing is that means fewer pennies go to try to find an answer to cancer.
If anyone has one of these bills laying around with nothing to do... they'll be happy to take it off your hands at Stand Up To Cancer. That's: www.standup2cancer.com Don't be shy, just toss it right in there!

Wonders to behold
At the time when FDR was stricken with Polio, it was a shameful thing. Most families would put paralized family members in a back room and not speak of it. It's not been all that long ago that Cancer was also not spoken about. Cancer was tainted with death and doom. Today, more and more, we are able to speak of cancer. Cathy Bates, spoke of her Ovarian Cancer on the today show recently. http://www.ovariancancer.org/ or http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/28576785#28576785 Awareness, that this disease is all around us, that it effects a broad spectrum of our society, and awareness that we are now at a point where the science CAN be harnessed to improve treatment regimes and outcomes. This is something worth fighting for.
It's a new day!
